Is your mobile phone screen not cluttered enough? That’ll soon change with a new feature in Google Maps for mobile: support for multiple layers. That’s right, you can now load all those pretty layers, such as Wikipedia or search results, and view them on your map at the same time. To save you from disappointment (which I felt when I realized that this doesn’t work on my Sony Ericsson P1i), let’s start with the supported platforms: Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile. Support for other platforms, says Google, is coming soon. On to the good news; you can add layers such as public transit, traffic (incidents included), local search results, Latitude friend locations and Wikipedia to Google Maps on your mobile phone.
